SEAN KELLY

Emerging from the Australian music scene in Melbourne in the late 70's as a punk rocker with bands The Spred and TRS, Sean Kelly rode the tide of contemporary music of the time, eventually forming experimental synth-pop ensemble Models, and continuing on a steep curve of popularity and acclaim throughout the 80's with chart-topping hits, and tours internationally working alongside artists as diverse as David Bowie, The Ramones, Midnight Oil, and The Birthday Party.

In 1990 Kelly was awarded an Aria as producer of the Australian Single of the year for his work with slick RnB outfit Absent Friends, featuring Wendy Matthews and INXS bassist Garry Beers.

During the ensuing years with brassy big band The Dukes from Sydney, Kelly produced an Aria nominated album establishing his credentials as a versatile musician capable of turning his hand from one musical genre to the next.

In 2010 Sean Kelly and Models were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Don't miss this compelling artist performing with his Trio, featuring singer-guitarist Billy Miller and bassist Rosie Westbrook.
